Scallop Envelope Big Shot Class

I saw these great projects on Carrie Gaskins blog and thought they would be perfect for this month’s Big Shot Class. 

This would make a very cute Easter gift.  It fits 2 Ghirardelli Chocolates perfectly, for that special someone in your life.  Maybe a girl’s birthday party, party favor!  Lots of possibilities.

I can’t get enough of the Fun Flowers die in the Occasions Mini catalog.  Poor Mandy is wondering if she’ll ever get her die back!  Soon, Mandy, soon…

Mini Scrapbook - Isn’t it cute?  There are 3 pouches for photos or journaling.  It would also be a great Easter gift with Bible verses on each card.

The Designer Series Paper I used is in the Sale-a-bration catalog. (Only one more day to take advantage of Sale-a-bration!)  For this class we’ll most likely be using a different pattern of Designer Series Paper.

Normally, we make 2 projects, but for this class I thought it would be fun to make a card too.

All 3 projects were made using the Scallop Envelope die and Fun Flower die.  Join me to create these fun and easy projects.  Whether you own a Big Shot or not, this is a great class.  WARNING: May cause those who attend a Big Shot class to experience the immediate need to purchase one.

I hope you’re not tired of the Nature Walk set because I just had to use it again!  It’s such a wonderful set and perfect for spring, summer, and okay, fall too.

Here’s the first card we’ll be making. Thanks Mandy for your wonderful card.  We”re not going to change a thing!

With this card, you’ll learn how to make a smaller border with the Tulip Impressions folder, marker-to-stamp techniques, and little water-coloring.  Lots of fun stuff all on one card.

Here is the 2nd card you’ll be creating.  This one is thanks to the swap I received from Abby Hoover.  All I did was change the color, use a little watercolor paper, and crayons.

Don’t be intimidated by the water-coloring!  I can’t paint myself into a corner, but colored these.  So if I can do it, you can too.

Swaps!

Every month when our team gets together to discuss new ideas, techniques, and business tips, we also swap.  I mean can stampers get together and not swap?  Make-n-Takes are also on the agenda because we know we can’t get together without at least doing that!!!

Anyway, here’s my swap for the month, and the ones I received.  Our theme this month was “Nature”.

Kay Kalthoff used this layout on a swap I won for checking out her FB page.  And since I always seem to be stealing case-ing her ideas, I thought “why not this one too?”!

The color is a bit off, but, the base card is done with Very Vanilla, although it looks like Whisper White.

This is a pretty quick and easy card.  A run through the Big Shot using one of the Impressions Texture folders, a few punches from the Curly Label punch, and the Build a Blossom punch, add a little ribbon, and voila!, you’re done!

The Lovely as a Tree set is perfect for this brayered technique.

Inspired by Nature is a great set for using your markers to color directly on the stamps.

Fun spring card!

My new favorite set right now is Nature Walk, and so I really love this card.  I’m thinking we might make something like this at the next Card Class in April.  I still haven’t decided what the other card will be! This uses both water coloring and marker-to-stamp techniques.

The butterfly was created by coloring in the Elements of Style image and the punching it out.  It’s like creating your own Designer Series Paper.  Darlene used the Elegant Lines Impression folder for the base.

Here are 2 of the cards we made for our make-n-takes this month.  We usually only do one, but, once a quarter we make 4-6 and call it a Play Day!

“Fabulous and Forty” Gift

I first saw this beautiful Petal Cone vase and Fun Flower card on Stampin’ Connect.  The most awesome website for ideas, tips and tricks, and for demonstrators only!

The vase and card were created by Jackie Topa and I just had to re-create it.  I made a few minor changes to the flowers and ribbon color.  I decided this would be the perfect gift to give to my Fabulous friend, Amy, for her 40th birthday.  I can say it was her 40th because her husband has already posted it on Facebook.  teehee!  The fun part was finding out the theme of her party was black and pink with polka dots.  I couldn’t have done better if I tried!

So, anyone who knows me, knows that I’m a sucker for galvanized tins, especially ones found in the $1 Spot…  Problem is, I keep buying them, but never having a class with them or using them myself!

Well, I finally used one!  Thought it would be perfect to fill with accessories for her stamping addiction, I mean hobby.

I started out by making my own raffia.  You just run some Old Olive Card stock through the paper crimper and then cut it into very thin pieces, crumple it up, and stuff it in the bottom of the tin.

I also have a weakness for containers from Ikea.  Ok, so I have a weakness for any container.  I took three of these containers and filled them with brads, buttons, punch pieces, hardware, and anything else I thought she’d like.  I especially tried to put all the orange colored items I could find.  She loves orange.

I punched out a circle with paper to match her card and vase for one side of the jar. 

I also mimicked the flowers and ribbon on the card for the lid of the jar.  The Fun Flowers die worked perfectly.  I love that die, too bad I don’t own it (yet).  Thanks to Mandy for letting me borrow it.  I guess I’d better give it back sometime soon!  I then ran them through the Big Shot again using the Vintage Wallpaper Impressions folder and, of course, added a little bling.

On the other side of the jar I punched out a circle of the Chalkboard vinyl.  Now she can change the label to whatever she has in the jar at the time.

I made a little notebook to go with it. You know, to write down all those items she just has to have from the Stampin’ Up! catalog.  Although, I suppose she could just jot down notes and things… nah!

Add a little ribbon and it’s ready to go!

It all came out so pretty!  I hope she liked it!

CD Holder

Amy has been bugging me (for 2 years) to make her a playlist of the music we played at club, and I finally did it.  At the last minute I decided to make a holder for the cd’s my wonderful, fabulous, terrific husband burned for me, to add to her present. (I have my husband edit my blog, and every now and then he takes some poetic license… teehee)

I used 4 5x5 envelopes.  I folded the flap back on each one then adhered it to the envelope behind it, making a sort of accordion file.  Then I covered it with Very Vanilla card stock and, you guessed it, decorated it to match every thing else.  It was very last minute, but I think it came out great!

Matching Fob

I almost forgot about the purse fob!  I love making these.  All you have to do is pick your paper and glue 2 designer label hardware pieces together, with the paper in the middle.  :0)  Then spread crystal effects all over it (just the paper) Let dry for 24 hours, flip it over and do the other side. Ta da!  Add a little bling and you have a great accessory for your purse or a gift for a friend.
