My Digital Studio

My wonderful friend and upline, Mandy Grant, has been hosting My Digital Studio classes for the past couple of months, and here is the Creation of the Month.

I’m learning so much from her classes!  The more I learn, the more amazed I am at what this program can do.  Isn’t this beautiful?

I was first excited about this program because I know I’ll never be a traditional scrap booker, but I want to preserve our family memories, and My Digital Studio will help me do just that.  The more I play with the software, the more I come to realize, it isn’t just for scrapbooking.  I can make cards, calendars, tags, and multimedia slide shows with music.  That’s just to name a few.

I’m hoping to spend more time in My Digital Studio, it’s just so hard to put down the ink, paper, scissors, ribbon, brads…Oops, there I go, back in my stamp room!

Paper Quilting

I was checking out one of the tutorials at splitcoaststampers the other day and saw this card that was just begging to be cased.  Y0u can view the tutorial and sample here.

After making the card I realized I hadn’t even looked at the tutorial!  So, I’m not sure if I did it the way they did, or not. Oh well,  you’ll have to check it out and let me know if I did the easy way, or the hard way.

The quilted layer measures 3 3/4” square.  I used my 3/4” square punch to make my squares. I laid out my design, then starting in the upper right hand corner, adhered it to a 3 3/4” square sheet. Snail adhesive is perfect for this. I ran both the quilted layer and the base through the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.  It really was quite easy to put together, and quite fun! The entire card card measures 5” x 5”.

Here’s a 3” x 3” I whipped up at the same time.  It’s just too cute!

Here’s a Shout Out to my sister-in-law Kay!  She’s a brand-new demonstrator and a quilter extraordinaire!  I thought of you, Kay, the whole time I was making them.  I’m way better with adhesive and scissors than needle and thread!

During Sale-a-bration you can get this designer paper for free!  Contact me today to find out how.

I hope you were inspired.  Thanks for looking.

“Bliss” Well, it’s just bliss! Sigh…

I was playing around in my stamp room the other day and look what I made!  I am in love with this set.  I might have said it in a previous post but it bears repeating!  It’s so elegant and pretty.  And easy to use.  AND, it’s free!*

I “cased” Julie Grenier’s card and only changed a couple of things.  She did such a great job I couldn’t help but copy it!

I stamped the butterfly in Old Olive craft ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  It’s hard to see but it really makes the butterfly pop.

I used the Tulip border impressions folder to dry emboss on the designer series paper.  Then I sanded the raised tulips to take some of the color off and make it stand out.

This would make a great wedding/anniversary card, a sympathy card or a very elegant birthday card.

I think I may use this in next month’s card class!

Glimmer Hearts!

I received this great swap from Linda Harris at our team meeting on Sunday.  Isn’t it cute?  And it gave me a great idea…

Valentines day morning I realized I’d forgotten to make a card for Megan.  I took one look at Linda’s swap and… Eureka!  This was so easy to make and I love how the glimmer hearts really sparkle.

My husband and I signed and sealed it and I thought no more about it.

Well, later that evening my husband handed me a card, that he made!

Yes, you read it right!  He made this card for me.  Now, he only saw mine above for just a minute before we put it in the envelope.  He did good at “CASEing” it, didn’t he?  And he used the Big Shot and he put some bling on it.   He definitely missed his calling.  Isn’t he awesome?

Build a Blossom - Gotta Love It!

I love this new stamp set and punch from the Occasions Mini catalog!  This is such a quick and easy card to make.  I stamped the petals with the Build a Blossom set and then punch them out with the Blossoms Petal punch.  A couple of glue dots later and you have the cutest flower!

Join me at this Friday’s card class and you can make 2 of these cards to take home with you!

I think this is my favorite stamp set from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  It’s so pretty and elegant.  I love how Early Espresso and Marina Mist look together.

You can also make 2 of these cards at this weeks card class.
