Paper Bag Scrapbook

We’re on our way to New Mexico for a little vacation and to visit family.  We’ll be starting school as soon as we get back, so to get into the swing of things and get my daughter writing (something she avoids like the plague), I thought I would make a little scrapbook she could use on vacation to journal in.

This is the first one I’ve made and it was really easy!.  I just used the small lunch sized bags folded in half.   P1110947_edited-1 Cover the front and back, then bind the sides.  I used my Crop-o-dile to punch the holes and set the jumbo eyelets.  I decided to use retired paper and supplies mostly because I have way too much of it!  There is just not enough time to use all the great stuff I seem to order…

Using paper bags gives you great pockets for pictures and keepsakes. Megan is always keeping a scrap of this or that, so this is perfect for her. P1110946_edited-1

The Designer Series Paper I used on the left was so cool, although I never used it when it was current!  I put this in there so she would have something fun to do during our trip.  On the right side is where she’ll journal about what she did on vacation.  I’ll have titles like:  Places I Went, Things I Saw, My Favorite Time…  As you can see, I’m not quite done!

I’ll probably have to finish this after we get to New Mexico. :0)

She just loved all these little scenes!

As you can see in the photos, I didn’t cover the bag all the way to the binding.  This really makes it thick.  It’s easier to punch this way and the book lays flatter when closed.

The End!

  1. I'm wondering if our new bags would work with this idea from the mini. Great idea!
