April Club Samples

This months club technique is called cracked glass. Which sounds way harder than it is!

Stamp your image. For this one I stamped my image on a piece of card stock larger than I needed. Using your versamark pad cover your entire image/paper with versamark then heat emboss with glassy glaze embossing powder. This is just like clear embossing powder only thicker. Let it cool for a moment thne re-apply your versamark, add more embossing powder and reheat. Depending on how thick it went on you will need a total of 2 or 3 layers. We punched out our image and then put it in the freezer for 10 minutes or so. Remove and bend your image back and forth. Small cracks will appear. Turn and bend your image until you have the desired effect. Sponge your choice of ink over the image, we used Soft Suede. This will cause your cracks to be more visible and give it a vintage/distressed look. Buff with paper towel to remove excess ink from embossed surface and you’re done!

The card we made for our image is 3 x 6 inches when folded. Cut 2 6x6 pieces of Designer Series Paper and score them at 3”. Glue the 2 pieces together overlapping to the score mark. Bend the paper back on itself at the top of both outside edges and to form your diagonal. The decorate as you wish.

On our second card, we created a removable bookmark that was also apart of the card design and used a 2-step stamping technique. Did you notice I used Baja Breeze ( one of our old In Colors) It’s coming back with the new catalog as one of our core colors! Yay!

The blue (Baja Breeze) portion of the card is the actual bookmark. It is folded in half with magnets on the inside. So it will stay put on the card and slide of to be used as a bookmark later.

Join me sometime at club. I hold this class on the second Monday of every month. Class cost is $5. You can also become a club member and enjoy other great benefits. Contact me for more details.

Thanks for looking!

Color Renovation!

Some of you may have already heard the exciting announcement that Stampin’ Up! made this past week.  But for those of you that haven’t……  They are renovating their color line-up and it is fabulous!!!

Ok, for those of you that hate change, DON’T panic!  It’s a good thing.  A very good thing.  Stampin’ Up! is always trying to stay on the forefront of today's trends and this is just another great example of that.

Stampin' Up! is releasing 5 BRAND NEW COLORS and BRINGING BACK 10 of the retired In Colors!!  Yes, you heard (read) that correctly.  Some of the old In Colors are coming back!  On July 1st, with the release of the new Idea Book & Catalog, this is how our color collections will look.  I am so excited!!!

Just the other day I was saying, ok (whining), when are they going to change some of these colors?  And in the same breathe, worried about Soft Suede going away in a couple of months.  It’s like somebody was listening to me.  I think I might need to check my house for “bugs”.  Not only are some of the outdated colors going away, but, some of the retired In Colors are coming back.  And best of all, Soft Suede is staying!

Let me see if I can give you the details of what’s staying, what’s going, and what’s new, without confusing everyone!

Break down of the color renovation:

25 current "core" colors (including neutrals) will be carried over to the new color collection:

  • Regal Rose
  • Tempting Turquoise
  • Old Olive
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Real Red
  • Chocolate Chip
  • Sahara Sand
  • Very Vanilla
  • Whisper White
  • Basic Gray
  • Basic Black
  • Elegant Eggplant
  • Night of Navy
  • Not Quite Navy
  • Always Artichoke
  • Garden Green
  • More Mustard
  • Bravo Burgandy
  • Pretty in Pink
  • Rose Red
  • Perfect Plum
  • Bashful Blue
  • Certainly Celery
  • So Saffron
  • Kraft ~ Crumb Cake ( new name / same color) I’m hoping this means we’ll have Kraft as an ink color and not just a paper color.  :0)

10 Past & Current In colors  are being added to the New color collection:

Past "In colors" added

  • Pacific Point
  • River Rock
  • Tangerine Tango
  • Riding Hood Red
  • Pink Pirouette
  • Baja Breeze
  • Wild Wasabi

Current "In Colors"  added

  • Rich Razzleberry
  • Soft Suede
  • Melon Mambo

5 Brand new core colors will be added!

  • Daffodil Delight
  • Early Espresso**
  • Cherry Cobbler**
  • Cajun Craze
  • Marina Mist

That brings us to a total of 40 colors.

Then, 5 Brand New In Colors will be added.  These 5 will now be good for two years instead of one.  I think that is awesome!  An additional 5 In Colors will be added next year, July 1011.  This will give you a total of 40 core colors and 10 In Colors. By adding 5 this year and 5 next, only 5 in colors will retire at a time, not all 10 at once.

Confusing, I know.  You’ll just have to come to a Class or Club to see them in person and really get the full impact of this exciting line-up!

I am so excited about all the new colors and the fact they kept some of my favorites!

These new collections are similar to our old color families, but the brights are less overwhelming, and the subtles are less pale.  The new collections are based on years of research and market study!!

Sadly, 30 current colors will be retiring in June. The colors that are retiring are:

Lovely Lilac Brilliant Blue Pixie Pink
Gable Green Orchid Opulence Ruby Red
Green Galore Close to Cocoa Pale Plum
Yoyo Yellow Glorious Green Mellow Moss
Only Orange Really Rust Going Gray
Pink Passion Bordering Blue Basic Brown
Summer Sun Brocade Blue Cameo Coral
Sage Shadow Handsome Hunter Ballet Blue
Barely Banana Creamy Caramel Blush Blossom
Apricot Appeal Almost Amethyst Lavender Lace
Taken with Teal    Crying 2

These colors (and coordinating items) will be available now through May 31st... AND June 1-30, as supplies last.  Order these items and stock up NOW before they're gone!!!!!

I will be posting more details as I get them.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  I'm glad I was able to share this news with you!

**I can’t wait to check out Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler!

March Stamp Club

March’s Stamp Club has come and gone. :0(  I’m always excited when it’s club time, but then it’s gone and I have to wait another month to share techniques and fun projects for all the wonderful (crazy) stampers who are in the club.

These were the projects for March.

I totally “CASE’d” this card from my wonderful upline Mandy Grant.  This is such a pretty card and really easy to make.

Ok,  I am officially in love with the Milk Carton die!  It makes the cutest & easiest bird house.  These bird houses are the perfect thing to make when Spring Fever hits!
