Flower Burst Fun!

I just had to post this.  My friend Doneine showed me this card she made and I immediately grabbed my camera!  This is just a wonderful card with hardly any stamping (heaven forbid!).

She used the Texturz plate, Flower Burst, & Little Leaves dies.  You gotta love the "Big Shot"!  She also used the Curly Label Punch Bundle.  The card base is Whisper White, the Flowers are Vintage Violet (retired In Color), and the leaves are Mellow Moss.  She also decorated the envelope but I forgot to take a picture of it. :0(  It was really cute too.

Playing in my stamp room....

I had a chance to play around in my stamp room today. Yay!  Of course, I tell my husband I need to work in my stamp room.  He doesn't realize it's all play!

PRAYING FOR YOU

 

This card was inspired by THIS card.  This card looks so much better in person.  It's hard to see but I used the Texturz plate with the diamond pattern on the Rose Red background.  It really makes the card.  I used the new Summer Sun corduroy button, it has such great texture.  I wanted to use the new Eyelet border punch instead of the scallops, but I don't have mine yet. :0(  As you can tell, lots of paper piercing, I just can't help myself!  I used the biggest Oval punch and then adhered it to a piece of Old Olive and just hand trimmed around it.  Not my favorite thing to do, but it wasn't too bad...

Here is the inside of the card.  I've been doing more with the insides lately. There's paper piercing in here too!

Ink: Rose Red classic ink pad, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Rose Red, and Summer Sun Stampin' Write markers.

BUTTERFLY TART

I need to get better at my picture taking.  This is so cute in person.   HERE is where I got my inspiration for this card.  I used the diamond pattern Texturz plate this one also.  I dotted the corners with the Black Stampin' Write marker.  I used the retired Wire Works (that I've had forever and never used!) to wrap around the butterflies and make antennae.  The butterflies are attached with mini glue dots.

I had an extra Top Note cut out and part of a big butterfly from when I cut out the smaller ones, so I thought I'd just put them on the inside.  Waste nothing!

Ink:  Rose Red classic ink, Basic Black Stampin' Write marker

Paper:  Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, and Raspberry Tart DSP

Stamp Club Samples

Stamp club was last week and I thought I would post pictures of the card and project they made.

The technique they learned this month was bleaching.  Put bleach in an Aqua Pen and color in your image.  You will want to emboss your image first to keep the bleach from running.  Your result will depend on the color of card stock you use. Each color reacts differently to the bleach.  The lighter the card stock the whiter it will come out.  The first picture is the sample I made up.  I don't like my flower placement on this one.  The second one is what they actually made.

Ink:  Craft Black ink

Paper:  Certainly Celery, Almost Amethyst(#1), Lavendar Lace(#2), So Saffron, Tea Party Designer Series Paper

GIFT CARD HOLDER

This was the 3d project they made.  Sticky Strip to adhere the ribbon to the paper.  I just love this template!  It is so versatile.  You can find the tutorial here.

After my ladies left I experimented with my Aqua Pen & bleach.  I just painted in a few areas with the pen.  Make sure you don't have too much liquid on the brush to keep it from running on your card stock.  I really like the way it came out!  It gives it a more vintage and softer feel.

This was not a club card but I already had it made up and instead of creating another post I thought I'd just slip it in here. 

I just can't get enough of this stamp set!  I made this for a demo group swap.  I missed our unit meeting so the other demo's haven't received theirs yet.  I guess I've let the cat out of the bag!  I can't wait to see the swaps I get from them.  I'll post the pics here when I get them.

THINKING OF YOU

I'm not sure I like the sponging I did around the edges....I think when I finish up the other swaps I won't sponge them quite so much.  I got the idea for the punch out and ribbon form this wonderful blog.  And the funny thing is, she has the exact same background on her blog as I do! The ribbon is actually tied to the back of the card.  It's hard to see but I used the new Sizzix Texturz plate on the card base.  The dry embossing sure adds a lot.

I started this blog in January but would like to share some of the things I created over the holidays.

This was my Christmas card for this year. I also used it for a Christmas card class.

SNOWFLAKE GIFT CARD HOLDER

I made this for my friend Kelly, who was getting the Sizzix Big Shot for Christmas.  It wasn't going to arrive in time and her husband wanted something under the tree.  I love this gift card holder. I found the tutorial here.  Below are a couple of pics of the inside.

SWIRLED GIFT CERTIFICATE HOLDER

 

 

My friend Doneine received a gift certificate for Christmas and I wanted to put in something a little fancier than an envelope.

I created this gift card holder/Christmas tree ornament for my stamp club.  We used the Coluzzle to make this and I think it was pretty much unanimous that no one really liked the Coluzzle!  But they did like the ornament.  I only know of one club member brave enough to make more.  You go Darlene!

Thoughts & Prayers

I just got my new stamp set (like I need another one!)  and have been playing around with it.  I love this set.  It is great for sympathy and get well cards.  The flowers and trees would work well on any type of card.  Here are a few of the cards I made.

I was inspired to make this card from one I found on Splitcoaststampers.  (Where I spend way to much time!)Check out Gretchen's blog to see the wonderful card she made!

SHARING IN SORROW

I colored directly on the flower stamp using Stampin' Write Markers. I then stamped it on Whisper White card stock that I cut out using the Sizzix Big Shot Top Note die cut.  The butterfly was also cut out with the Big Shot.  I tied a piece of hemp twine around the butterfly to give it a body and antennae.  It's adhered to the card with a mini glue dot.  I used the Watercolor Vine wheel, with the Versamarker pad, on the Kiwi Kiss layer to add a little texture to that layer.  For the ribbon I punched twice with the horizontal slot punch and then tied the ribbon with more Hemp Twine.  This card measures 5" x 5"

Paper:  Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, and Whisper White cardstock.  Raspberry Tart Designer Series paper

Ink:  Chocolate Chip Classic ink pad, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive & Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Markers.

Accessories:  Hemp Twine, 1" Double Stitched Chocolate Chip grosgrain, Top Note & Butterfly die cuts, Horizontal Slot punch.

 THINKING OF YOU

I was inspired by Christine's card which you can see here.  If it weren't for all the wonderfully creative people out there I wouldn't be able to create half the cards I do!

This is a real simple card yet very elegant and soft.  I stamped the tree in Whisper White Craft ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  Then I sponged it with Mellow Moss.  I stamped the sentiment and added ribbon.  And its done!

Ink:  Whisper White craft ink, Mellow Moss classic ink

Paper:  Whisper White card stock

Accessories:  White embossing powder, Mellow Moss Taffeta ribbon, and Hodgepodge silver ribbon slide

PRAYING FOR YOU

Here is my creation!  I stamped Whisper White craft ink on a Kraft card stock base.  The folded side is punched with the slot punch to allow the ribbon through from the inside.  The top is pierced in the corners to add a little interest.  I heat embossed the sentiment to make it stand out more.

Paper:  Kraft and Whisper White card stock, Manchester DSP

Accessories:  Scallop Edge punch, white embossing powder, paper piercing tool, Whisper White Organza ribbon.

When it comes to our papercrafting or scrapbooking, it's time for us to get or PHD's done! You're probably thinking "What is she talking about?"  I'm talking about Projects Half Done!  If you're anything like me, you have lots of things you need to complete or even get started on.

Once a month I'll hold a "Work on your PhD day".  Bring your projects and supplies to my house and get inspired to take your creativity to a "higher degree".  My inks and stamps are available for you to use.  My Sizzix "Big Shot" is also available.  If the project is large there will be a small fee for the use of the "Big Shot".

I don't know about you, but I'm always more motivated when working with others. Ok, I'll call it like it is, socializing!  Anyway, below are the details:

• 10am - 4pm on Mondays & 10am-3pm on Saturdays (come for an hour or stay all day)
