Chattanooga Regional Swaps

Well,  if you really could pave a road with good intentions, then I’d be working on a 4 lane highway!  I had every intention of catching up and posting more often but…… :0)

Our group attended Stampin’ Up!’s regional seminar in Chattanooga a couple of weeks ago where we saw some creative new techniques.  We had a great time!  Just when you think “surely I’ve seen everything”, someone comes up with a new way to do something that just blows you away!  I’ll be sharing some of those new techniques and ideas between now and Christmas.  For now, here are a few of the swaps I received while I was there.

To be honest, when I first saw this paper in the Holiday Mini Catalog, I thought “hmmm, turquoise, interesting…” but now that I’ve seen it in person I’ve definitely changed my mind!  :0)  The Designer Series paper is called Autumn Meadows (116769) and is on page 13 of the mini catalog.  This card was created by Phyllis Shephard from Newnan GA.

The Real Red background on this card was embossed using the Petals a Plenty Textured Impressions folder (116284), page 21 of the Holiday Mini catalog.  I love these embossing folders and texturz plates, they add so much to a card, without any effort.  I wish I could give credit to who made this but they didn’t include their info on the back.  :0(

This little guys is so cute!  I wish you could really see his shiny nose and the shimmer paint that’s all over the front of this tag.  It gives it a subtle sheen without looking like glitter.  His nose has a drop of Crystal Effects for the “effect”.  Rudolf is from the Sparkly & Bright stamp set (115346) in the big catalog, page 41.  The shimmer paint you can find on page 27 of the Holiday Mini.

I love this reindeer!  It’s a stamp you can purchase individually, called Dasher (116816), page 208 in the big catalog.  This one also had no info on the back, so I can’t give credit here either.  She used the Holiday Lounge Designer Series paper (115676), also from the big catalog. It’s hard to see, but the white background is scored with vertical stripes to give it some added texture.  It’s such an easy and free technique to spice up a card.

Sadly, this set is retired, but the card was so cute I had to show it.  This picture really picks up the sparkle of the Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the snowmen.  It looks really pretty IRL.  The Whisper White layer was run through the BigShot using the Textured Impressions Embossing Folder “Finial Press” (115963), page 195.  To keep from embossing the center, just make an oval mask out of chipboard to put over the top before running it thru.  Vickie Harwood from Hixson, TN made this card.

This card also uses the same technique when embossing.  Dazzling Diamonds has been sprinkled over the trees, but you can barely see it here.  The Textured Impressions Folder used here was Petals-a-Plenty (116824), page 21 of the Holiday Mini Catalog.

I’ll be posting more of my swaps in the next few days.  No seriously, I will!

Thanks for looking!
