Megan’s Card

Here is a card my daughter made, she’s 6 3/4 (that’s what she would tell you).  She saw me teach this card at one of my clubs and begged me to let her do it! She loves anything with glitter.

After we got done, at least I thought we were done, she said “wait, it’s not finished, the butterfly needs a flower!”  So, this is how her card turned out.

I told her what a great job she did and the next thing she said was, “Is it good enough for you to post it on your blog?”  How could I refuse that!

Maybe she’s a future demonstrator in the making……

Club Projects

Here are this month’s Stamp Club projects.  They learned the stained glass technique.  It really adds a “wow” to the card and is very simple to do.

Stamp lined image, on vellum cardstock, with Stazon ink.  Flip image over and lay it on your paper piercing pad.  Using the small end of your stylus trace around  the image.  This will whiten the vellum and give it a 3 dimensional (embossed) look.  Also on the back side color in image with Stampin’ Write markers or aqua pen. Flip over and attach it to a piece of Whisper White card stock, exactly the same size.  This really helps the image to stand out.  To adhere the vellum, I place a dot of 2-way glue in each corner.  It dried clear and you couldn’t even see it.  I popped up the oval scallop with dimensionals and that was it!

They made this cutie with the Matchbox die.  I didn’t get a picture of it open, but it holds 4 Hershey Nuggets perfectly!  Run the outside sleeve back through the Big Shot using the Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die for a completely different look!  Use your Versamark to fill in different areas for a little more dimension and you’re done!

New Clubs are starting in July.  So sign up now to hold your spot and be able to make these wonderful projects, and also learn great new techniques!  If you don’t want to wait, gather up 5 of your friends and start a club today.

Campin' & Stampin'

I can't go a week without stamping, and we just got back from a week long camping trip.  So what did I do?  I created a class for the campground!

I had to figured out something I could make that was camping related.  Since I had just cleaned out the Dollar Spot at Target, I thought "hey, something with a tin"!  So, I decided to make a citronella candle holder.   I tried to use only items that would weather well...  It's also cute enough for your patio or even indoors.

I used the Crop-a-dile (just the best tool ever!) to punch holes around the bucket.  Tie ribbon through 2 holes and insert Flower Fusion felt flower with a Hodgepodge brad in the holes between the ribbon.

Stamp bucket with Stazon ink.  It's a little tricky because the stamp wants to slip and you're stamping on a curve.  I sort of "rocked" the stamp across the bucket.  Don't worry if you mess up,  Stazon cleaner lets you wipe it right off!  Careful, the Stazon will smear until it dries.  Once it's dry it won't come off in the rain or even if you wash it.

I would put sand or gravel in the bottom to give it some weight, then add a candle and you're ready to go!

  • Flower Fusion Too, 1" Dbl Stitch Baja Breeze & Chocolate Chip grosgrain. Hodgepodge brads, Crop-a-dile, Stazon ink & cleaner
  • Tin Bucket & Citronella candle

We camp at Indian Creek Campground every year and I think it's the best campground east of the Mississippi!  If you live anywhere near Cherokee, NC it's worth the trip.

Ok, so I just have to add pictures of the campground!  Every time we go I don't want to come back. :0)

The entire campground is lush and green and well maintained.  Their landscaping blends well with the natural setting.  No, I'm not getting paid to advertise for them!P1060045 copy

This was our site.  We camp with all the amenities!  My son is taking a break from the hard work of camping...

I couldn't resist adding the bathhouse.  I keep telling everyone they are spotless!P1060054 copy

Man Card Class

OK, the details are finally here!

Class Fee*:  $16.00

Dates: Saturday, June 6th 10am-noon

           Wednesday, June 10th 7-9pm

Making masculine cards is always hard to do, at least for me!  No ribbon, no flowers, no Pretties, no bling.  What's a girl to do?  Well, the "To The Nines Specialty Paper" has definitely made it much easier.  I know, I keep saying I love this paper, but I do Love This Paper!  The texture on these specialty paper gives them such a rich look.

P1050947 copyAnyway, this is a great way to stock up on "manly" cards and make a little something for Dad.  Come make 6 cards (3 of each design) and a great little Father's Day booklet.  There is a place to put a picture, to write why he's so great, and a place to give him a couple "coupons" good for having the car washed or sleeping in on the weekend.

*Class Fee Includes:  All supplies needed to make 6 cards and booklet.  Also 1 pkg of To The Nines Specialty paper (minus what you need to make the cards).  Don't worry, there will be plenty of paper left over to make a ton of cards and perhaps a matching scrapbook layout.....hhhmmmm.  I'll also include instructions for making a really nice gift bag to match! And there'll be snacks, of course!

Contact me today or click on the PayPal button to pay for the class and reserve your spot at the same time.
