What Shimmers in the Sunlight?

Technique Club projects!  You thought I was gonna say Edward Cullen, didn't you! :0)

COSMO BUTTERFLY

For this card I was showing club members how to use heat & stick powder and Cosmo Fine glitter.  I also learned something in the process....If you over heat the heat & stick powder, it won't stick!

This really is an easy card to make.  Stamp your image using the versamark pad.  Make sure the pad is really juicy.  Pour heat & stick powder over stamped image, tap off, and heat.  Be very careful not to over-heat.  You'll see the powder melt and become glossy, as soon as it does, it's ready for the glitter.  Pour glitter over image, tap off, and heat again to set the glitter.  Then you're done.  The hardest part about making this card is cleaning up the glitter!

TART TOTE

The ladies' project was this "Box in a Bag" and 2 more ways to add glitter.  Click here for the tutorial on Splitcoast.  I've seen it all over the place and can't believe I haven't made one sooner.  It's really cute and not very hard to make.   P1050662c

The tag has Dazzling Diamonds glitter dotted on the ladybug.  The glitter is adhered with 2-way glue.  There is Chunky Essentials glitter at the bottom of the bag.  I just ran a Sticky Strip around the base and rolled the bag in the glitter.  I love the way this glitter looks, but it is the hardest one to clean up!  It sticks to everything.

Supplies:

  • Stamps - Garden Whimsy, Curly Label Punch Bundle
  • Ink - Basic Black & Rose Red classic ink, Versamark
  • Paper - Cameo Coral, Pretty in Pink, Basic Black, & Whisper White card stock, Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper
  • Accessories - Dazzling Diamonds, Cosmo, & Chunky glitter, Heat & Stick powder, Eyelet border punch, Tab punch, Black Hemp Twine, Regal Rose 5/8 grosgrain, Sticky Strip

FATHERS TOTE

I made this one up as a sample of a more manly version.  I really like the new specialty papers that Stampin' UP! has come out with.  I used the To the Nines Specialty paper.  It's a little heavier than the normal 12x12 Designer Series paper and is textured.

My friend Kelly made this cute post-it note holder.  She is also a club member.  The flowers and leaves were done with Sizzlets on the Big shot.
