This is a card I made up for our demonstrator swap. Hopefully they won't see this post before we swap cards! We meet every other month to swap cards, ideas, techniques and laughs. My wonderful upline Mandy Grant, keeps us inspired and motivated to share what we love. She also teaches us a new technique every time we meet. Check out her Blog for more great ideas. She has some great scrapbook layouts on her site.
I have to say this is an original. I spend so much time on other blogs and see so many great ideas that I just have to copy, that I don't start from scratch very often. I couldn't sleep the other night and finally gave up and got out of bed. I had a bunch of card ideas floating around in my head (a very rare occurrence) and thought if I sketched them out I might get back to sleep. When I looked at my sketch book I was shocked to see I had put down a couple of good ideas. I figured what seemed like inspiration at 3am would look like scribbles in daylight.....This is such a simple card and is easy to make, but looks so elegant. Ok, enough bragging, here's what I did:
I ran the Whisper White layer through the Big Shot using the diamond Texturz plate. I stamped the grass afterwards, only because I stamped a different color first on the other side and didn't like it! I'll stamp it first when I make the rest. The vellum butterfly was run through the small polka dot texturz plate for a little texture (haha), but it doesn't really show up in this picture. Both butterflies were cut from the SU! exclusive die. The pearl is adhered to the butterfly with a mini glue dot. I made the ribbon floweret by sewing a running stitch down one side of the ribbon and then cinching and tying it closed.
