Playing in My Stamp Room

I meant to have this post out sooner, but that just didn't happen!  I made Megan a travel journal for our trip to Texas.  I thought it would be fun and educational.  At least that's what I told myself,  really it was just a good excuse to alter a composition notebook and add lots of bling. :0)

These are fairly quick to do, if you don't add a lot of bling.  I covered the comp book with Regal Rose and then layered on a strip of Almost Amethyst card stock.  I punched the Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery, & Whisper White strips with the new Eyelet Border punch (my new favorite).  After layering in the Tea Party DSP, I punched a hole with my paper piercer through the cover and attached the Felt Fusion flowers, Pretties Kit white flower and pink Rhinestone brad.  I'll hide the brad with a layer of DSP on the inside cover.

I adhered Tea Party Designer Series Paper to our On Board Timeless Type chip board letters and then cut around them with a hobby blade. I sanded the edges and added buttons and ribbon for a little fun.  The butterflies were cut out using the Beautiful Butterflies die cut.  the button is adhered using a mini glue dot.  It is hard to see but I twisted silver wire around the butterfly to make antennae.

I used the Designer Hurray eyelet on the back cover to run ribbon through and make a bookmark.

The back mirrors the front, without all the bling!

I was messing around with the Sizzix Texturz plates again.  It's hard to see the diamond pattern but it gives this simple card a little pop.  The polka dot strip is from Taste of Textiles pack of card stock.  It's thick vellum and I adhered it with small dots of glue.  I then added the Pretties Kit half pearls with a glue dot.  I positioned the pearls to cover the glue I used to adhere the vellum.

This is a shot of the inside.  For this vellum strip I adhered it around the back of the Whisper White card stock so you wouldn't see the glue.

This has to be my favorite card of the month.  It's very springing and yet not to bright for the sentiment.  I started with a basic layout I saw online (can't remember where!) and started embellishing!  The idea for the white dots came from an amazing stamper I found on the web.  Her blog is called Stampin' With Markie's Mom.  Check out her stuff it's wonderful.   I used the Tea Party DSP and the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set.  Which I can't seem to get enough of!  The Pretties flower is dyed with a Rose Red reinker.  I also sponged Pretty In Pink on the Whisper White eyelet border to make it stand out more.  Of course I thought it still needed a little more......So I topped it off with Latte buttons and White Organza ribbon.

The inside of the card was crying out for something too, so I just had to add the DSP and flowers!

Ok, this is my last faux gift box gift card holder!  They are just so fun to make.  This was actually one I'd messed up.  I didn't come out the way I envisioned it and wouldn't work for a workshop I was getting ready for. I changed it up a little and now it's not to bad looking.  I stamped the Bella Toile background stamp with Basic Brown in on Kraft card stock.  This seemed kind of flat so I used my aqua pen filled with bleach and traced part of the design.  The bleach acts different on every color of paper so I was surprised when it came out a Saffron color.  It matches the ribbon from the Sale-a-bration catalog perfectly!  I used my So Saffron marker on the Pretties flower to tone down the white, then added a Felt Fusion Flower  and Designer Circle brad to top it off.  Not to bad for a project gone awry!

As always all supplies are from Stampin' Up! unless otherwise stated.

This n' That

Since I'm out of town for the week, I took pictures of some previous projects I did.  I thought I'd post them so you wouldn't start missing me. :0)

This was a club project a while back.  The template was one we received at Convention last year.  I used the same template on my previous post.  The pink floweret is made with the 2" grosgrain ribbon.  You just hand sew a running stitch down one side and cinch it.  Then tie the ends together.  I used one of the flower brads through the center and adhered it to the box with a pop-up glue dot.

Supplies:  Sweet Stems stamp set, Black Stazon, Rose Red & Kiwi Kiss classic ink, Aqua pen, Pretty in Pink card stock & Bella Rose Designer Series paper, Scallop Edge punch, 2 Pink Pirouette grosgrain ribbon, Flower brad & Pop-Up Glue Dot.

I love this little box.  My upline gave us this template.  It doesn't require any glue!  You just slip off the ribbon and open it up.  I put little 3x3 note cards and envelopes in it and used it as a teachers gift.  You could also put a cello bag with candy or small gift in it.

Here are the note cards.  I've seen these pussy willows all over Splitcoast and just love them.  All you do is use your slot punch on Chocolate Chip card stock. Stamp the grass, then adhere the punched out pieces.

Supplies:  Inspired by Nature, Flight of the Butterfly, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, & Baja Breeze classic ink, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, & Not Quite Navy card stock, 3x3 notes & envelopes.

This is a prayer journal/BFF book that I made awhile back.  I used the Top Note die and cut the front and back out with chipboard.  The pages are die cut with card stock.  I adhered the ribbon with sticky strip. The only problem with this journal is that it is so cute I can't bring myself to write in it!

Supplies: Bella's Bloom stamp set, Textured  and regular Pink Pirouette card stock, Whisper White card stock, Bella Rose Designer Series paper, 1" Double Stitched Chocolate Chip grosgrain, & Pink Taffeta ribbon.  Styled Silver Hodgepodge hardware, Clear Rhinestone brad, Flower Fusion, & Flower Fusion Too, Pewter Jumbo eyelet, Top Note die.

This frame was made using 1 of the Book Basic (sm) pieces of chipboard.  I adhered the card stock first and then ran it through the Big Shot.  Then, of course, I had to add all the accessories!  The ribbon is just tied in the back and I slipped the picture under it to keep it in place.  That way I can change it out anytime.  This is a 5x7 photo, to give you an idea of the size.

Not to make anybody jealous or anything but it's 75 degrees and I watching wild turkeys and deer wander into the yard while I'm typing this on my parents patio......I head home on Wednesday and will try to post once more before we leave Texas.  It's been great here, the scenery is gorgeous but can't wait to get home.  I know I have at least 2 boxes from Stampin' Up! waiting for me!

Workshop Fun

Hi everyone!  I meant to post way before this, but my trip to Texas has been somewhat of an adventure.  And that is putting it mildly.....

I had a workshop just before I left so I thought I would post what they made, and the really cute hostess gift that I made.

I LOVE the new Specialty Designer Series Paper, especially the Parisian Breeze.  The texture, color, and pattern are wonderful.  I used the blender pens to fill in the flowers.  This is a 3 1/2 x 5 card.  The size is just perfect for making up a quick card.  Since we sell these note cards pre-cut and scored with envelopes ( 20 for 5.95 - 107311), it just can't get any easier than this.

Stamps:  Sweet Stems, Fundamental Phrases

Ink:  Black Stazon, Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand

Paper:  Whisper White, Parisian Breeze Specialty DSP

Accessories:  Eyelet border punch, Blender Pen, Note Cards

This was a sample I brought to show how another inexpensive set looks on these note cards.  I only punched the Whisper White and left the Parisian paper squared off.  The stamp set is Bella's Bloom.  I stamped the flower in Baja Breeze and then stamped the sentiment over the top in Black Stazon.

This last one is the simplest.  I used Rose Red and Kiwi Kiss on the flower.  A set of these would make a great teachers gift!

The ladies at the workshop didn't make this one, but I showed them what they could put their cards in and gave this one as part of the hostess gift.

The ladies did make these during the workshop.  You can find the template and instructions at Carolina's Creative Pad.  I stamped the bottom of the gift box with Basic Brown and then put bleach in my aqua pen.  I just painted in some of the flowers, swirls and such until I liked the look of it.  This one could use a little more work....

Stamps:  Bella Toile

Ink:  Basic Brown

Paper:  Baja Breeze, Whisper White, & Parisian Breeze DSP

Accessories:  Kraft taffeta, Aqua Pen, Eyelet border punch

Now for my favorite thing!  I didn't know exactly what I was going to do, so I just sort of made it up as I went along....  I got the jar/vase for .97 at Walmart.  What a deal!  I had a spool of the silver wire from some craft store (I wouldn't want to name names).  Add some vinyl flowers and some bling, and VIOLA!

Supplies:  Home Decor vinyl flowers, Pretties Kit, 1" Rose Red dbl stitched grosgrain, Clear Rhinestones, Flower Fusion, Flower Fusion Too
