Love Fest Class

Here are the last 2 cards for the Love Fest class.  I think I like them better than the first 2 I made.  I just love the Sweet Stems stamp set and well, the Raspberry Tart DSP is just scrumptious!

To make 4 cards with one stamp set, one DSP, 1 ribbon choice, and four complementary colors was very hard!  Usually I just start pulling stamps from all sorts of sets and grabbing ink like it's going out of style.  I had to keep myself from reaching for just one more color ink, a different ribbon, or just one little stamp from another set.  I did however go crazy with the punches!  I think between the four cards I used at least 5 different punches.  The versatility of the Sweet Stems set and the Raspberry Tart DSP made it easier than I thought it would be.  I hope you like them!

This was last nights class and I have this same class again tomorrow .  These ladies are so fun.   And if you measure how good a time everyone had, by how fast I loose control of the class....Then everyone had a great time!  I think I lost control in the first 10 minutes!    P1040742My friend Kelly even came dressed to match the cards. happy P1040740

Birthday Cards

I head up our church's birthday card ministry and once a quarter we get together and make cards. We send them out to all the women at church to let them know they are being thought of and prayed for. The group of ladies that come over are great! Today they made a total of 40 cards in about 2 hours. They are such fun and they all do such an amazing job! Since most of the ladies aren’t stampers, or should I say they’re not addicted to stamping like me, I come up with the designs and pre-cut everything. Then I just give them a quick run down and they jump right in. We usually have four designs and make 10 of each. This gives everybody a part to do. I love to watch these ladies, who have never or hardly ever stamped before, start embossing, paper piercing, and all kinds things. I don’t know why I get such a kick out of it.

All that said….Here are the four designs we did today (all items used are from Stampin’ Up! unless otherwise noted).

It’s hard to see, but I scored 2 lines at the bottom of the card and pierced down the middle. The bottom half of the card seemed empty so I just had to do something. :0) Dimensionals were used to pop up the flowers.

Stamps: Petal Pizzazz, On Your Birthday

Ink: Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, More Mustard

Paper: Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Haiku DSP

Accessories: 5/8 Chocolate Chip grosgrain & silver brads, dimensionals

Tools: Scor-Pal, paper piercing tool, scallop punch & scallop edge punch

I love, love, love the Inspired By Nature stamp set. Why it’s on the dormant list I do not know. I also love, love, love Watercolor Crayons. I stamped the background first. I colored directly on the stamp and then sprayed with water. I didn’t spray quite enough on this one, but I still like how it turned out. The more water you use, the more it looks like watercolor. I also used the crayons on the sentiment inside to give it the same soft look.

This is one I “CASED” from a couple of cards on Splitcoast last year. The petals were stamped and punched out, trimmed a little, then adhered to the card. The seed head is the solid petal stamped and embossed in black, then the bottom is cut off. The stem is hand done.

My First Offical Post

Welcome to my blog! I'm hoping to create a place where you can find new ways of looking at old things. Be inspired by what you can do with a little paper, ink and stamps. Find great classes and clubs to join. Get updates on the latest Stampin' Up! sales. And lastly to share what I"m crazy about with people as crazy as me! I am so inspired by all the wonderful ideas out on the web. I hope my little corner here will inspire you too. Now quit "blurfing" (blog surfing) and go create something!

Love Fest Class

Here are a couple of cards I created for a class I am holding next week.  I used the Sweet Stems stamp set from the new SU! Catalog and the new delicious Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper.  It makes you hunger just looking at it!

These are so much better in real life!

Hodgepodge Hardware Fun!

I had great fun creating these bookmarks.  I also turned one of them into a purse fob for a friend.

I used both the Styled Silver and Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware.  Flowers from both Flower Fusion sets.

Baby Shower Banner

I created this banner friends who has waited a long time for their first child.  I just kept adding and adding to it.  It came out so cute I almost hated to give it up!

I love all the wonderful Sizzix die cuts Stampin’ Up! now carries!  It made this a really easy project to do. These pictures just don’t do it justice.  I was in such a rush to finish and get to the baby shower I forgot to take pictures.  I had to borrow a camera after I got there and take them.  Thanks Sandy!

I clear embossed the chipboard letters twice to give them a higher shine.  Baby Banner 2

The pop-up glue dots work great for adhering the ribbon flowerets.  We learned to make these at last years SU Convention.  You baste down one side of the ribbon with a fairly strong thread and pull tight.  Tie and trim. I used the rhinestone brad to hold both flowerets together.

Let’s see if I can list all the supplies I used!  There were a lot.  And if you can believe it, absolutely no stamping. All supplies and tools are from Stampin’ Up! unless otherwise noted.

Paper:  Georgia Peach DSP(retired), Kiwi Kiss CS, Rock-a-Bye Girl Simply Scrapin’ Kit

Ink:  Rose Red Craft Ink

Accessories:  Circle of Fire Pink Rhinestones, Pretties Kit, Button Bouquet, 1/4 Pretty in Pink, 5/8 stripped & 1 1/4 Pink Pirouette & 5/8 Regal Rose grosgrain, Kiwi Kiss Satin ribbon, Pretty in Pink Taffeta, clear embossing powder, and On Board Loads of Letters & Timeless Type chipboard.

Tools: Bigz XL die – Pennant, 1 3/8 circle punch, mini glue dots, & pop-up glue dots.

I think that’s everything!

Thanks for looking.
